2 Beach Boys & a Pianist

My current obsession with the 90's is getting out of control! I've already watched Reality Bites twice this month and now I'm repeating scenes from "Long Vacation" over and over again...  finding a well reviewed JDorama set in the 90's is good enough for me but at the same time, having not just one, but 2 out of these 3 gorgeous men starring in it is not good for my health! Ooh the heart, it flutters too much (>_<)~ their hair... so perfectly quaffed.

Takenouchi Yutaka with a cig in the 1st photograph and with Takashi Sorimachi in the 2nd.
Such a cool vibe. The two actors star alongside each other in "Beach Boys".

My boyfriend and I are big fans of Mr. Sorimachi's GTO series; one of the best JDramas out there in my opinion. The chemistry between his and Nanako Matsushima's character is just so fun to watch and they actually fell in love at the set and got married!

And finally, we have Takuya Kimura. DB loved "Hero" and he told me to watch it ages ago, which I still haven't ^^" but will definitely now after having watched his performance in Long Vacation. He stars alongside Takenouchi Yutaka as a young piano teacher who starts sharing an apartment with an ex-model 7 years his senior.

I can't imagine anyone else playing the roles of the two leads. Tomoko Yamaguchi is an amazing actress and I loved watching her in this one. I feel that the JDramas back then were more natural compared to the ones they air these days. Nowadays, the dramas seem a bit too exaggerated and unreal. These doramas I've listed, all from the 1990's, are my top 3 JDramas of all time... well, so far, until now. And then comes "1 Litre of Tears". That one's the 4th because it made me cry too much... probably cried a litre for each episode.

A Modest Charmer

I wanted to post this before I go and watch Skyfall tomorrow. So excited to see Ben Whishaw as the new Quartermaster! His 20 minute skit, Love Hate, on the BBC was so funny and you can't help but fall in love with his and Abbie Cornish's portrayal of John Keats and Fanny Brawne in Bright Star.

11th beat: Power Couple

I should be completing my organic chem report right now but I can't seem to let my mind avoid the fact that I haven't made a (heart) beat post for the past few weeks. So, today's post is going to be on the dynamic wife and husband duo, YOON and VERBAL

They are both founders of the jewelry brand Antonio Murphy & Astro as well as AMBUSH. Many may recognize VERBAL as the rapper of m-flo or one of the Teriyaki Boyz. Whereas YOON is a prominent DJ and a design consultant of the Billionaire Boys Club and A Bathing Ape.

Yoon is so darn cool~

One of Verbal's classic pieces; the POW! ring.

I think the two make an awesome pair. It's quite rare to see a couple working together so closely and being so successful at the same time. They are definitely a "couple" of role models. See what I did there ;) Hahaah. No? Ok -_-

The first ever m-flo video I saw, featuring Miyavi's wife!!
Enjoy~ ♬

10th beat: Beautiful minds

I was reading through the lovely Miss Ferreira's blog and stumbled upon a post about Jamie Beck Since then I've been a fan of her! I especially love her cinemagraphs, which she created with Kevin Burg! Here are a few samples of their work. The first cinemagraph is of Ms. Beck herself!

♥ ♥ ♥

Aren't the pieces just amazing?? I love them and the whole idea! Kinda reminds me a bit of Harry Potter as well. If you want to see more of their work, click this link right here

9th beat: Kakoii man

Among all the eastern Asian actors I know of, the first one that comes into my mind as the manliest one (besides Bruce Lee of course. He's like the manliest of the manliest.) is Yūsuke Iseya

Yeah, there are loads of other strong masculine Oriental personalities; like the mr. Darcy type: Daniel Henney and Won Bin, or martial artists such as the legendary Jackie Chan, Ong-bak and Stephen Chow or even Yokozona back from WWF. I'm not talking about any alpha male types either. Just a regular, strictly cool, manly celeb; like Yūsuke Iseya.

A model, artist, actor and director, 5' 11" tall Iseya is mainly known for his role as Casshern in the movie of the same name. I myself think it's a good movie; it's sci-fi and kinda deep. The plot is pretty good. In fact, I am afraid it might happen in the future D: Hopefully not; fingers crossed.

Although Iseya is, as in my opinion, a manly man, he's the face of Loreal Japan and also models for Prada: Milan. And he's also the man from Asahi Aqua Blue beer. And what else...

He starred alongside another Japanese manly *Ahoo* (300 moment haha) actor Hideaki Ito (the older brother from First Kiss), Oguri Shun and Quinten Tarantino in Sukiyaki Western Django.
His recent movies include 13 Assassins and Ashita no Joe (from the manga) with Yamapi where he plays Joe's rival, Toru Rikiishi.
I can't help but imagine him as a samurai from those romantic eras :)
But of course, I will imagine my boyfriend as my savior samurai :D Iseya-san will be the villain or older brother heheheheeheh

So comment below, who do you think is the manliest celeb out there?
I have a feeling a lot might say Dwayne Johnson or Vin Diesel. Dang, Fast Five was so full of testosterone O_O

8th beat: oneh gal

Sayoko Ozaki is one of the really pretty models featured in Japan's gyaru magazine; Happie Nuts
I recently came to know about the magazine after seeing her pics on tumblr.
She's soo beautiful that I can't think of anything else to write about! So just enjoy these pics of her; courtesy to all the girls who tagged her in tumblr! Thanks guys :D

7th beat: mon préféré des Vogues

I've rarely seen many rock/indie collaborations in fashion magazines. Yeah, they put on a lot of vintage stuff; the pictures all in agfa effects and the style's being used such a lot these days. But then I saw a picture of the new editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris...
Madame Emmanuelle Alt. Rock chic. And then I got googling.
She's a goddess. I'm a big fan now :) She's absolutely cool!
I'm not into the usual white sheepskin aviator jackets but I definitely like hers and the way she's wearing it.
I love the dark shades she uses for her outfits.
They reflect such a cool persona.
These shoes, I just ❤

PS: Please pardon my french if wrong ^^"

6th beat: Juri Ueno

It's been a long long time since the last ℬeat topic, so finally today, I present to you, miss Juri Ueno!  The first movie I saw of her was Swing Girls. Very hillarious! Great fun and simply adored her carefree character!
Miss Ueno has scooped a lot of awards, and by a lot I mean a lot lot. I haven't watched Nodame Cantabile yet, but I've got thumbs up from a couple of friends. Looking at the poster, I think her and Tamaki Hiroshi make such a cute couple. But then again her and Eita make a real cool couple at the same time. The dude from 1 litre of tears was soo scary in Last Friends D:
I thought she looked really cool as a tomboy in that drama, Last Friends. Not many girls can pull off really short hair, or maybe I'm thinking that way because I haven't come accross many girls with that short hair.
kewl :3
She looks so mature now compared to the character she played in Swing Girls as a 16-year-old. That movie cracked me and my brother up so much when we first watched it xD The name of the movie may sound a bit new and weird but the film's actually about a group of high school girls forming a jazz band.
And now she's like all grown up and so beautiful :")
Like a modern hime-sama.
Love her dress! Her shoes! Her hair! Aahhhh love her whole look!!! so pretty x3
